Comedians Anthony Anderson and Cedric The Entertainer cut the ribbon on their first brick-and-mortar restaurant, AC Barbeque, in the Westfield Century City Mall this week. The duo already sells a line of sauces, rubs, barbeque tools, and accessories.

“Ced and I were entering the food space independently of one another and working on a hot sauce with George Lopez and realized we should all be working together as friends,” Anderson told LA Weekly at the grand opening. “There was no national barbeque brand out there with the face of the African American community”.

Anthony Anderson and Cedric The Entertainer are known for their comedy. Now, they also want to be known for something culinary! The two opened their first restaurant together – AC Barbeque at the Westfield Century City Mall.

Anthony Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer have officially fired up the smoker in Los Angeles. The award-winning actors, comedians, and self-proclaimed barbecue heads just opened the first brick-and-mortar location of AC Barbeque at Westfield Century City — and the whole vibe is meant to feel like one big backyard cookout.

Born from their hit TV series Kings of BBQ, AC Barbeque started as a sauce and rub brand and is now leveling up into a restaurant, bringing the duo’s love for ribs, brisket, and family-style feasts to the West Coast. Think St. Louis-style ribs slathered in “All Day Sauce,” chopped brisket piled high on white bread, smoked chicken wings finished in the fryer, and a platter called A to the C that goes heavy with brisket, pulled pork, and chicken for the indecisive.

Laura Govan, mother of the USC Trojans commit Alijah Arenas, was elated for comedian, actor, writer, and producer Cedric Kyles and American actor and comedian Anthony Anderson as they commenced a new venture.

Govan shared a few Instagram stories as she visited Kyles’ and Anthony’s new restaurant, AC Barbeque, on Thursday and congratulated them: “Congratulations proud of you …,” Govan captioned her first story with a red heart emoji as she tagged Cedric Kyles.

Award-winning actors, comedians, and self-proclaimed barbeque enthusiasts Anthony Anderson and Cedric The Entertainer have officially opened the doors to AC Barbeque, their first brick-and-mortar restaurant, at Westfield Century City. An extension of their already wildly popular BBQ brand, the fast-casual barbeque venue introduces a premium experience that blends authentic, robust flavors with southern hospitality on the West Coast.

“Stepping into AC Barbeque feels like a backyard bash where the grill is always hot and the laughs are plentiful. Anthony and I share this deep love for good barbecue—it’s a taste of joy, a slice of celebration. We’ve poured that passion into every plate.”

Cedric the Entertainer and actor Anthony Anderson were all smiles as they cut the ribbon at the grand opening of their new restaurant, AC Barbeque, in Los Angeles, California.

The star-studded event drew a crowd eager to support the longtime friends and business partners. Known for their comedic chemistry, the duo is now bringing that same energy to the food scene with a menu that promises bold flavors and a laid-back vibe.

Two of Los Angeles’s most prominent Black comedians and actors — Anthony Anderson (Blackish) and Cedric the Entertainer (real name Cedric Antonio Kyles; The Neighborhood, Barber Shop) — opened food court restaurant AC Barbeque on May 7 inside the Westfield Century City. The restaurant’s smoked meats incorporate flavors and styles from their upbringings in Compton and St. Louis, respectively. AC Barbecue occupies a prime slot toward the front of the mall’s rooftop food court deck.

The restaurant is inspired by Anderson and Kyles’ A&E show, King of BBQ, which chronicles their passion for barbecue in the U.S. Before debuting at Westfield Century City, the pair previously opened a campus kitchen at Jackson State University and a food truck at Howard University in Washington D.C. in 2024. At the restaurant’s launch party on May 6, a celebrity crowd that included Don Cheadle, Martin Lawrence, and Marlon Wayans was in attendance, vibing to dance music on the patio in between bites of pulled pork, brisket, and St. Louis rib sliders.

Parade caught up with the longtime friends in an exclusive interview at the grand opening of their AC Barbeque restaurant in Los Angeles.

In the midst of celebrating their latest culinary venture, Anthony Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer have nothing but praise for everyone who helped them along the way — including Oprah and Don Cheadle.

The longtime friends opened up about the subject while chatting exclusively with Parade at the grand opening of their AC Barbeque restaurant at Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 7.

The Century City mall keeps adding new restaurants like it’s trying to win back everyone who’s ever gotten lost in their parking garage. The latest is AC Barbeque, the first restaurant location of Anthony Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer’s barbecue brand. After years of selling their seasonings and rubs, they’re now serving smoked ribs, brisket, pulled pork, wings, and chicken, all doused in their signature sauce.
